Meet our Rights Respecting Council

We are a 'Rights Respecting School'.
We want to make sure that Children's Rights are at the heart of our ethos and culture, to improve well-being and to develop every child’s talents and abilities to their full potential. We are committed to making sure that everyone's voice is heard in school.
We are delighted to announce that we have already been awarded the Bronze Award - we are now recognised as a 'Rights Committed' school. We are busy working towards our Silver Award. We have lots of exciting plans and ideas!
Each week we will be focusing on a new right in each class and voting for our own 'Rights Respecters'.
Ask your children which right they have been talking about in class.

What is the UNCRC?

The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), created in 1989, recognises that children have the rights to be treated with dignity and fairness, to be protected, to develop to their full potential and to have their views respected, regardless of who they are, or where they are from.
